KWARA FADAMA NG/CARES TRAINS FACILITATORS, DESK OFFICERS IN RESPECT OF FCA COMMITTEES * Intervention, Another Prosperous Turn for Farmers by Gov. AbdulRazaq - SPC

As part of the prerequisites towards the first disbursement of the  Kwara State Fadama NG-CARES  the Community Facilitators and the Local Desk Officers across the eigth Local Government Areas captured for the disbursement of the project in the livestock enterprise have been trained

Addressing the trainees, the State Project Coordinator, FADAMA NG-CARES, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, said that the capacity-building training was to equip the trainees on how to handle and administer the Farmer Communities' Associations (FCA) constituted among the prospective beneficiaries captured for the coming disbursement.

Busari charged the trainees to internalise every bit of the training contents, stressing they would go and replicate the training to the members of various FCA Committees in the LGAs concerned because they  were only representing the farmers at the gathering.
He noted that the project is Pfor R-inclined, therefore  the Facilitators and the Desk Officers should know that the success of the project partly lies on how effectively they carry out their assignments.

The Coordinator added that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq deserves profound commendation and a loud  ovation for usual  prompt release of fund and for giving the order to work, observing that Kwara State is one of the states taking lead in the NG-CARES Project generally across the country.

He disclosed that with the commitment of the Governor to the project, there is high optimism that farmers in Kwara will soon be chanting a new song of joy.

"We gathered the Community Facilitators and the Local Desk Officers of the eight local government areas that will benefit in the livestock disbursement.

" The training given to them will be taken to the farmers concerned, this will guide them in the way they will be administering the committees of the various FCAs.

"Interestingly,  this is a clear pointer to progress as far as the project of Fadama NG-CARES in Kwara is concerned.

" In fact,  Governor AbdulRazaq deserves commendation for usual swift response to the imperative needs of the delivery platform everytime.

"Kwara is one of the few states leading in the project out of the thirty-six  States of the Federation.

"His fervent support  (both fund-wise and morally) for the project is tremendous. This agricultural intervention, I believe, will yield for farmers in the State another prosperous turn that will arrest poverty among them", he declared.

Busari also thanked the Governor for approving Productive  Allowance for PIU (Project Implementation Unit), Community Facilitators and Local  Fadama Desk Offices.

The trainees were equiped on Tools for Gathering Data, Principle of Waste Management, Guide to Agricultural Input Identification, Guide to Agricultural Asset Identification and Grievance Redress Mechanism.

Other concentrations at the training included Procurement Training; Fiduciary; Management and Evaluation System; and Minutes Writing.

The training also featured a question-and-answer session to evaluate effectiveness in learning on the part of the trainees.
