* Weeks after the Kwara State Government presented flying boats to many communities through the fourth disbursement by the State Fadama CARES, not less than six riverine communities from Patigi Local Government Area of the State, have  expressed profound gratitude to the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON.  Representatives of the concerned communities including Ellah, Edozhigi, Gudugi, Mawogi, Esugi and Gbaradogi, comprising indigenes under the umbrella of Kyeadya Kintin Development Association gathered at the Office of the Kwara Fadama CARES, Ilorin, to commend the present administration for touching their lives empirically through easing their coastal engagements and improving their livelihoods as fishermen. * Presentation of both commercial and fishing boats by the Kwara State Government, through Kwara Fadama CARES, has been extended to seven riverine communities in Edu Local Government Area of the State with a view to improving the residents' livelihood and avail them access to smooth transportation within and beyond the three communities in the LGA.  The communities that received the boat assets comprised Belle, Gbere, Yeluwa, Fanagun, Tada, Kanko, Gidanmodi, all from Edu LGA. In preparation for the third phase of the disbursement by the Kwara Fadama CARES, the Kwara State Government has organised an orientation session for the Advisory Service Providers, who are to offer technical services to the beneficiaries of the Fadama CARES intervention.  It would be recalled that the Kwara Fadama CARES has, since the commencement of the project,  earlier had two phases of disbursement to indigent farmers in the State.  Addressing the Service Providers, the State Project Coordinator, Engr. KW FADAMA CARES: GOVT REITERATES PRIORITY TO INDIGENT FARMERS

The Kwara State Government has reiterated commitments to prioritise indigent farmers in the implementation of the Kwara Fadama CARES Project, even as another disbursement is under way.  The Permanent Secretary, Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and State Chairman, State Technical Committee on Kwara Fadama CARES, Mr. Ishiaq Olayinka Oloruko-Oba, revealed this intention at a meeting held today, at the Ministry premises to enhance effectiveness the  third disbursement exercise of Kwara Fadama CARES.   Oloruko-Oba  stated further that the session was necessary to get the stakeholders more proactive and more transparent in the oncoming disbursement.  He however cautioned  HODs of Agric, Desk Officers and Local Facilitators across the sixteen LGAs in the state against inadequacy in the selection of beneficiaries during the disbursement.  The Permanent Secretary then stressed that the project is exclusively...

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA), in collaboration with National Fadama Development Project (NFDP), has supported dry season farming across the 16 local government areas of state with Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps, to enhance food security in Kwara State and to ensure all year-round in farming/cropping. This is coming as a result of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in July, 2022 between REA and (NFDP). Presenting the solar-powered irrigation pumps, the Higher Technical Officer, Rural Electrification Agency, North Central Zone, Engr. Adebayo Babatunde, disclosed that the initiative is aimed at improving utilisation of Land and Water Resources across the major rivers in the country.  He noted that implementation of the programme by REA started with Thirteen pivotal states of which Kwara is one and that the beneficiary subproject sites selected include communities with Farmers' User Groups (FUGs), surface water schemes, subproject sites requiring...
